Dr. Saswata Adhikari

Assistant Professor, IIT Mandi

Research area: Harmonic Analysis

  1. My research interest is frame theory on the Heisenberg group. Frames were first studied in connection with the non-uniform sampling of bandlimited functions. The theory of frames has been applied in various fields such as sampling theory, time frequency analysis, wavelet theory, digital image and signal processing.
  2. Another area of my research is to study integral operators such as Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator , fractional integral operator that are used as very important tools in Harmonic analysis as well as in partial differential equations.
  3. I also work on Dunkl theory. The Dunkl operators are differential-difference operators introduced by Dunkl in 1989. In the Dunkl setting there are similar notions like Dunkl operators, Dunkl transform which are generalizations of partial differential operator and Fourier transform respectively.
