In the pursuit of understanding the factors influencing the performance of students in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), a survey was conducted among the 2022 batch students from the esteemed Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi. The comprehensive survey covered various parameters to gain insights into the students' preparation, background, and motivation, with the ultimate goal of predicting their JEE Advanced marks. The survey encompassed multiple key parameters, starting with the time dedicated by students to both school and JEE preparation. This crucial aspect sheds light on the students' dedication and commitment to strike a balance between their regular academics and intense JEE training. Additionally, we also considered the educational status of the students' parents, which could play a role in shaping the academic environment and support at home.
Those who are enrolled in coaching centre give first
preference to coaching material as it cover almost every
type of questions.
Apart from it, students also follow NCERT for
chemistry
as some of the questions came directly from the NCERT.
Other reference books followed by students are HC Verma,
Cengage Series for maths and physics.
Most of the students spent time 2-3 hours per day on
digital media which includes mobile phone, T .V, or
other entertainment sources.
This is also important as it refreshes the mind. But the
student should not become addicted to it. In 12th this
time gradually decreases.
Physical Activities are also very important aspect in
student’s life as it reduces student’s stress, improves
his concentration and enhances memory retention.
It also improves the focus. So many students spend some
time (less than 2 hours) in some kind of physical
activities like sports, yoga , exercises etc. But In
class
12th this time decreases as they have more pressure of
study in 12th .
Those who gave clear any national/state level test have
more probability to score good marks as
they have better thinking and solving abilities as
compared to others
Many of the students didn’t gave mock tests consistently still got better marks. But those give consistently got better Marks as they are used to exams
