A high-end workshop on the Technologies for 5G and Beyond is being organized at the School of Computing and Electrical Engineering (SCEE), IIT Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, India, from March 9, 2024 to March 15, 2024. Under the Accelerate Vignan scheme, the workshop will impart necessary fundamentals and advanced concepts of next generation wireless technologies and standards to the participants.

Procedure

Registration Closed

The prospective applicants will apply online by filling the application from. A total of twenty five students will be shortlisted from the received applications. The number excludes the self-sponsored candidates. The shortlisted candidates will be notified and will be asked to finally register and pay the fee. Failing which the waitlisted candidate will be considered. Faculty members, professionals from Industry/ R&D organizations must apply as the self-sponsored candidate. Students can also register as self-sponsored candidates. In a special circumstance, the registration cancellation may be allowed but not after the last day of fee payment.

Registration Fee

  • Rs. 3000 + GST : Twenty-five shortlisted UG/PG students.
  • Rs. 9500 + GST : Self sponsored candidates.

The registration includes the following:

  • Welcome kit (backpack, bottle, mug, writing pad, stationery, ID-kit, etc.)
  • Boarding and lodging at IIT Mandi campus for seven days. (Students will stay in hostel on sharing basis. Self-sponsored candidates will stay in the Institute guest house.)
  • Banquet dinner.
  • Additionally, all twenty-five shortlisted students will avail a one-time to-and-fro travel allowance (bus and train up to AC-III) from their parent institute.

How to Reach

Mandi City Bus Stop

Mandi is very well connected through roads from Delhi and Chandigarh. Public transport of Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana roadways ply their buses on this route. Private luxury buses are readily available to travel on this route through the road. Most of the buses operate during night and reach Mandi early in the morning. One may easily hire a car from Delhi & Chandigarh to reach Mandi. Distance & average journey time from major cities to Mandi via road:

  • Delhi : 450 Km (10 hrs)
  • Chandigarh : 198 Km (04 hrs)
  • Ambala : 233 Km (06 hrs)
  • Ropar : 148 Km (03 hrs)
  • Roorkee : 372 km (08 hrs)

IIT Mandi Campus

IIT Mandi North campus is approximately 23 Km from Mandi city bus stand. It takes 40-45 minutes to reach IIT Mandi campus from Mandi city bus stand. Himachal roadways, private buses & cars on rent are available to travel from Mandi city bus terminal to IIT Mandi campus (Kamand or Salgi village). Cars on rent are available from outside of Mandi city bus station round the clock. Normal cab charges from Mandi city bus stand to IIT campus is between Rs. 700 to Rs. 1000. The IIT Mandi buses ply during day time on regular intervals. Based on the availability, the Institute bus services can be used to travel to IIT campus from the Mandi city bus stop.
